BONDCERAM 415
 Bondceram 415 is a specialty product for use with iron and steels in
high temperature bonding applications. It is an excellent thread locking
material. It is especially good for adhering ceramics to steel. It has a
high expansion component that allows it to maintain the bond with metal
over a high temperature range. It can also be used with high expansion
ceramics up to 3400°F. It is a single
component alkaline cream colored thick liquid. It can often be used
after simple air-drying and initial heating during use.
Bondceram will adhere to iron and steel but extra care must be taken
to assure that the surface is free from oils including those which might
have penetrated the surface during machining etc. After a good aqueous
cleaning in drying flaming off the surface is recommended. This is
accomplished by passing a blue flame over the article that will burn the
surface molecules leaving an adherent oxide coating. Then coat both
surfaces, lightly press together and then air dry overnight or give a
low 170°F cure.
