Cercoat 822

Cercoat 822 is the low expansion ceramic coating that can withstand temperatures up to 2500 (F. This is a one component creamy bright white coating that can be applied by dipping, brushing or spraying. It has low expansion so it has excellent thermal shock resistance. It will provide a bright smooth hard surface while helping to seal gaps or porosity if any. Because of its bright white smooth surface it will enhance the performance of insulation. Because of Cercoat 822 low expansion it can withstand an intermittent direct flame impinging on a surface this also helps with rapid temperature cycling.

Cercoat 822 can be applied directly to a chemically clean surface. It can be thinned for spraying with small amounts of clean water. If the surface to be coated is very porous then it should be wetted to dampness prior to applying the Cercoat 822. After the material is dried to the touch it is necessary to dive off the moisture with a low temperature cure of about 170 (F for about 1 hour. Afterwards it can be heated to operating temperature but it would be better that the first time it is gradual to insure all the moisture has been driven off.
